Olandijos aviakompanija pradės tiesioginį skrydį Amsterdamas – Katmandu

KATHMANDU – A Dutch airline will start direct Amsterdam- Kathmandu flight, ending a long dry spell of over five years.

Arke Fly is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday, according to Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA), reports Xinhua news agency on Tuesday.

It’s Boeing 737 will fly once a week initially.

There has been no direct flight between Nepal and Europe since Nepal Airlines — which has no aircraft for long haul flights — suspended its flights to Europe five years ago, according to officials.

Other European Airlines such as Austrian Airlines also suspended their direct flight to Kathmandu during the same period.

Earlier, Nepal’s national flag carrier flew to Moscow, London and Frankfort on and off, but suspended all flights to these destinations five years ago.

Meanwhile, China Eastern Air has recently started three flights a week between China’s Kunming and Kathmandu.
