Daugiau nei 1500 tourists have been evacuated by boat from the Island of Lombok in Indonesia after the 7.0 earthquake on Sunday. As of now the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), confirmed that more than 4600 tourists were evacuated from North Lombok, Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan totaled.
Those leaving Lombok were brought to Bali’s southernmost Port of Benoa using a flotilla of vessels starting from Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon. According to local media the ships deployed for the evacuation were KM Binaiya, MV Bounty Cruise, KM KPLP I, KM KPLP II, MV Patagoniair MV Patagonia Xpress.
Denpasar Police Precinct, Hadi Purnomo, who personally headed the large complement of police coordinated his efforts with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI-Bali)
Tourists that escaped the Lombok horror were taken to hospitals, hotels or Den Pasar airport once they arrived in Bali.
All hotels in Lombok are operating but sold out. Tourists were seen camping in hotel lobbies of sold-out hotels, at Lombok Airport and other places.
Šios Director-General of Immigration confirmed that 7 foreign nationals suffered injuries as a result of Sunday’s earthquake in Lombok and were being treated at hospitals in Lombok.
