NEW YORK, NY – The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced that it will send a special delegation to the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) 2009 Convention in Nashville, Tennessee on February 8.

The group of delegates will include Shaul Zemach, director-general of the Ministry of Tourism in Jerusalem; Arie Sommer, North and South American tourism commissioner, based in New York City; Orren Drori, senior deputy director-general for the Ministry of Tourism in Jerusalem; and others.

The delegation will hold a press conference at NRB 2009 at 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 8 in Room D of the Governor’s Chambers at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. Representatives will discuss and answer questions related to Israel’s record-breaking tourism numbers over the past two years, as well as the ongoing support and solidarity shown by North American Christians.

“We truly value and appreciate the faithfulness our Christian friends have shown us through the years, especially with their many visits to Israel,” Zemach said. “We are once again honored to be a part of NRB this year and to have the opportunity to express our gratitude for this unwavering support.”

With Israel setting record-breaking numbers for tourists from the United States in 2008, the Ministry of Tourism expects the strong momentum of its current “Visit Israel – You’ll Never Be the Same” ad campaign to continue to produce record Christian response in 2009.

Focusing on reaching Christian leaders in churches, ministries, and the media, the campaign will continue to utilize strategically planned marketing vehicles, including a variety of print, broadcast, and web-based and interactive media.
