Mianmaras nori japonų turistų: dalyvauti JATA Tokijuje

With its gorgeous islands in the south, pristine beaches in the west and picturesque mountains in the north, Myanmar has plenty of new, exciting destinations worth visiting and attractions awaiting to be discovered.

That’s the message Myanmar Tourism Marketing is bringing to the world’s leading tourism event, JATA Tourism Expo, which kicks off today in Tokyo.

On September 22, Myanmar Tourism Marketing will be organising a Myanmar promotion seminar and a press conference, to be followed by another seminar on Myanmar tourism infrastructure on September 25, after the trade fair concludes. From September 25 to 27, MTM will be showcasing a photo exhibition of Myanmar, highlighting the country’s growing list of tourist attractions.

More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the four-day event, which brings together more than 1,100 hospitality and tourism-related businesses and organisations from 140 countries across regions.

May Myat Mon Win, Chairperson of Myanmar Tourism Marketing, said: “You may have known Myanmar as a cultural destination. In reality, there are so many appealing elements that make up the country, and only by visiting can one capture the true spirit of Myanmar.”

As part of its new campaign, Myanmar Tourism Marketing is introducing new active destinations for the younger generation through Community-Based Tourism programmes such as diving in the Myeik Archipelago, trekking around Inle, Kalaw and Pa-O as well as exploring the lakes, mountains and caves in Hpa-an.

For women travellers keen on discovering the more fun side of Myanmar, the country also makes an excellent destination for food, shopping and wellness. Delicacies such as

Mote Hin Gar and Shan noodles are a just a couple of examples of what makes Myanmar cuisine globally acknowledged. Shoppers would appreciate the wealth of options in high-quality jade and gemstones as well as silk and cotton fabrics.

May Myat Mon Win, Chairperson of Myanmar Tourism Marketing, explained further: “On our part, we’re doing all we can to ensure that international visitors have a wonderful time in Myanmar, all-year round.”

In expectation of increasing tourist numbers, hotel room supply in Myanmar has grown  steadily. According to Colliers Property Report Q2 2017, the upper-scale hotel stock in Yangon has continued to build up, with the annual supply for the year set to reach a new record high and 4,000 new rooms to be completed in the next three to four years.
